The aim of Macquarie Chapel is to be a church that lives out the love of God. Connecting with one another and showing pastoral care and grace is a vital part of such a loving church. No one person can be responsible for all the pastoral support of our church, and it is great to see our community support each other in so many ways
If you have a special pastoral need and would like someone to pray and connect with you please email us.
At MacChap we aim to connecting with each other with truth, grace and hope. This will involve a multi-layered approach to pastoral support and care.
God’s Word – Growing in Christ: We believe that people are being ministered to regularly at Macquarie Chapel through the preaching and teaching of God’s word. There is no greater wisdom than the Bible, and as we learn so we grow.
Prayer – Bearing one another’s burden: Prayer is at the heart of all Macquarie Chapel activities. Prayer is a unique and special way we can care for one another as Christians. As well as congregational, small group and private prayer, we want to encourage more prayer after our Sunday services for those who would like to pray with fellow believers.
Organic Community – Using opportunities to connect and care: We hope that on Sundays and throughout the week there will be organic opportunities for people to gather, share life and connect with each other. Our Pastoral Neighbourhoods and activities such as Breaking Bread Sundays, PlayTime and Choir offer opportunities to get to know people at a deeper level and be encouraged to show care and love to those around them.
Small Groups – Loving one another: At MacChap Small Groups are often the place where people connect: where truth meets life. Within these intimate contexts people learn to love and care for one another. People are strengthened and sustained by the fellowship and care exhibited through the relationships. With so many new faces, we find that most people take a while to settle into a new church – but this is greatly helped if they become part of a small group.
Connect Team – Encouraging everyone to connect: The aim of the Connect Team is to facilitate connection and provide some of the impetus and organisation for organic community to happen. The Connect Team works together with many other members of the church to coordinate welcoming at services, events such as Breaking Bread Sundays, Getaways and new member’s events.
Pastoral Staff – Shepherding the flock: We believe, in many issues, that wise biblical counsel can help troubled people. Our pastoral staff are all available to talk and discuss issues as they arise. If anyone would like to meet with one of the staff please phone the church office or email us.
Referrals – Seeking wisdom: We have a list of counsellors and therapists who come recommended to us by qualified members of our congregation in various fields. There is a time to seek wisdom and we will encourage you to seek professional help if needed.
